Overview

The Client Relationship Manager role is a key, competitive individual contributor managing IDC’s solutions and requiring a dynamic self-starter who is highly customer centric. In this position, you will work with senior level executives at technology companies to proactively drive adoption and usage of IDC research and services.  As a trusted business partner, you are focused on a positive client experience above all else.  You will ultimately be responsible for engaging with customers post-sales, driving user adoption and satisfaction while ensuring high retention rates.

 

In addition, this position will emerge to being involved in product expertise, audience analysis, and working with various teams. There will be growing opportunities to apply project management skills, working as a liaison between business and IT to create process and offering enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating customer inquiry activity through strong relationship-building, product knowledge, planning and execution
  • Coordinating interactions with IDC analysts via calls/presentations/on sites etc.
  • Developing a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders through consistent and open lines of communication
  • Working with customers to ensure they are leveraging IDC effectively
  • Proactively monitor and identify usage trends to uncover renewal risks, while supporting greater adoption rates
  • Creating and curating proactive content to increase client alignment and value
  • Track customer interaction within Salesforce.com
  • Develop a deep knowledge of IDC research and client needs
  • Identify product and service enhancements, create and manage projects working with IT and other business areas
  • Work closely with sales on account strategy, upsell opportunities, renewal analysis, and client efforts including trials and onsites

Qualifications

The ideal candidate exudes a passion for technology and customer satisfaction, and possesses excellent professional communication skills, customer centricity, team mindedness, and can find creative approaches to solving customer problems.

 

IDC seeks someone who will provide a well-organized, energetic approach to customer relationship management. This person must be able to balance multiple tasks and have a results-minded attitude to solving customer needs, and championing IDC research into their solutions.  This is a highly visible, dynamic position that affords growth potential into further key strategic positions.

 

  • The successful candidates will have 3-5 years of customer service experience, and a basic understanding of information technology
  • This person must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be enthusiastic about Information Technology
  • S/he must have the ability to work within a team environment and possess good organizational and time management skills
  • Project management skills or experience working with IT developers will also be valued in this position
  • This position entails occasional travel within the U.S.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Information Technology, Business, or Sciences
  • This position is based out of IDC’s corporate office in Framingham, MA
