IDC’s Worldwide Software & Public Cloud Services Tracker Research group is looking to fill the role of Senior Analyst, Worldwide Software & Public Cloud Services Trackers.  Join IDC’s team and be a key component to delivering the most respected software and cloud data and trends in the industry!


This program has very high visibility with major software vendors, cloud services providers and industry players alike.  Be responsible for handling the day to day duties of IDC’s Software & Public Cloud Services Tracker research program and engage with both established and emerging players in the industry. The candidate will be asked to lead the data creation, processing and quality checking that ultimately results in individual company models in IDC’s Software & Public Cloud Services Tracker research product.

  • Ongoing coordination between a wide range of global and regional analysts to understand market dynamics and competitive positioning, following industry news to develop a strong view of the Software & Public Cloud Services market trends, and building a well-informed view of where these markets are going
  • Create revenue models for select Software & Public Cloud Services companies by product, market and region
  • Project management and coordination of Software & Public Cloud Services company models with IDC’s analysts and research groups
  • Work with senior vendor contacts to inform and review IDC's revenue estimates for these vendors
  • Aggregate, analyze and reconcile supply and demand side market data, meeting deadlines
  • Analyze Software & Public Cloud Services market trends and competitive landscapes based on supply and demand side data
  • Create and present results to clients in a variety of formats


  • Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Economics, Master’s degree desired
  • 3-4 years of data analysis or market research experience in the IT industry with a preference for experience in the software and cloud services industry, and relevant market trends 
  • 1-2 plus years of experience in Project Management managing multiple projects with minimal supervision; managing all phases of the project life cycle, including running project status meetings
  • Proven track record of multi-tasking, meeting deadlines and delivering projects on time/budget
  • Strong analytical, database, and quantitative skills
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to collaborate with a technical and service-oriented team of professionals, and promote cooperation from a wide variety of stakeholders, including team members and other internal departments
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
