IDC's Customer Insights & Analysis team is in search of a person to fill a hybrid role of a project / business development manager to help facilitate the management and business development of a global portfolio of spending guide products. The successful candidate will have strong, demonstrated communication and project management skills, customer services skills, plus proven ability to work with a global team.



  • Drive all project related activities specific to global Spending Guide and Black Book products
  • Develop project plans and timelines
  • Navigate project changes effectively, remove barriers and coordinate with a variety of cross-functional project team members.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Provide consistent high-level communication to internal stakeholders on project status and changes.
  • Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations that are effectively tailored to the intended audience.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Learn assigned accounts (type of company, focus areas, what they buy, what they should buy, contract/pricing legacies, annual vs any mid-year changes)
  • Document and/or maintain existing records of assigned accounts including subscription details, gap analysis, booking notes/instructions
  • Understand the booking process and requirements (start/end dates, product name, delivery quarters, parts requests, user groups)
  • Create and upload all supporting sales and marketing materials onto
  • Work with the central production team to fill out appropriate documentation in the CPT Tool (updates, documentation, groupings, deliverable types) specifying what details of client deliverables
  • Support Customer Insights as well as IDC Sales with product packaging and pricing requests
  • Actively support sales during client renewal discussions
  • Assess and identify areas where client delivery can be improved or streamlined
  • Prospect and identify new clients by product, build TAM analysis


  • 5 plus years of experience in Project Management and/or Consulting while managing multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to remain organized at all times and to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources including team members, other internal departments
  • Experience managing all phases of the project life cycle, including running project status meetings, and a proven track record of multi-tasking, meeting deadlines and delivering projects on time/budget
  • Knowledge of different project management software, and be technically competent with various software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SFDC.
