    We are seeking a Research Manager to support research and business development efforts in the Analytics & Intelligent Automation (A&IA) Services markets.

     

    In this exciting role, you will be given the opportunity to:

    • collaborate with analysts around the world
    • create new data-driven market research (and market models)
    • write highly influential reports covering analytics, artificial intelligence, and automation technologies & related services markets
    • work with primary research and complex market models to help customers better understand of key factors driving adoption trends, new technology evaluation and competitive dynamics within the multi-billion-dollar cloud industry

    This Research Manager role is a highly visible position that requires the candidate to develop cutting-edge qualitative and quantitative research for IDC's exceptionally diverse base of clients that includes the most significant worldwide business and IT services firms.

     

    The successful Research Manager candidate will become a subject-matter expert on A&IA services, buyer requirements, and services firm capabilities.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, publish and present innovative, insightful, and actionable research.  This includes writing well-researched and concise reports, generating forecasts, and presenting findings to providers and clients of A&IA service
    • Participate in survey design and analysis: working in cooperation with IDC’s primary researchers to develop, execute and publish relevant, insightful and actionable buyer-focused surveys
    • Provide first-class customer support and advisory services: offer timely and actionable insights and ongoing customer service
    • Work closely with other IDC analysts to collect, analyze, and report observed trends, vendor revenue and market segmentations
    • Interact with executives from leading technology and services companies to understand strategy, offerings, and technology roadmaps
    • Support ongoing market models on performance of A&IA services segments
    • Key topic areas to be covered include, specifically Global and U.S. opportunity for services related to:

      • Information & data management
      • Cognitive/artificial intelligence
      • Automation (RPA and artificial intelligence enabled automation)
      • Leading analytics, and intelligent automation services providers worldwide
      • Analyzing capabilities of leading services firms
      • Partner ecosystems of leading analytics, and intelligent automation technology providers (e.g. IBM Watson, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, Google, SAP, Oracle, Amazon)

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, MBA preferred
    • A minimum of 4 years experience working with A&AI services providers is preferred (e.g. Deloitte, PwC, Accenture, IBM, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro)
    • Understanding business implications and drivers of A&IA services revenue, operating models and constraints
    • Prior experience working as an analyst and/or related business experience is a plus
    • Ability to critically analyze new and emerging trends, technologies, and services, and express the analysis in a written format
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills
