    IDC is seeking an experienced software research analyst in the content and process software technologies arenas to join its analytics and information management market research and advisory group. The Research Manager will be responsible for developing research across several content-centric workflow technologies, including enterprise content management, content collaboration, enterprise capture, and document automation. The Research Manager will also contribute in intelligent process automation, including robotic process automation (RPA).



    The ideal candidate will be innovative and resourceful, with a good mix of technical, analytical and communication capabilities. The role includes client-facing and industry-facing responsibilities, as well as responsibility for producing research products and providing advisory services. The Research Manager will also be involved with consulting and custom research.

    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Excellent interpersonal skills for supporting both client inquiry and internal collaboration with other IDC analysts, including the ability to collaborate in a global environment
    • Strong analytical and quantitative and modeling skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
    • Solid business development and client relationship capabilities


    • Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus
    • 5-10 years of previous market research experience or in a related industry
    • Excellent interpersonal skills for client inquiry and internal collaboration
    • Strong, demonstrated written communication skills, including writing of reports, presentations, or other documents that are actionable and relevant for the target audience
    • Strong, demonstrated verbal (including public speaking) skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products is a must. Advanced skills in Excel required; knowledge of analytic tools for social sciences market research preferred
    • Ability to travel (<25%) will be required on an as needed basis
    • Demonstrated ability in working under pressure with competing deadlines
    • Sound judgment, planning, project management and organization skills
