  • Overview

    IDC is seeking an energetic Research Director with a Cybersecurity background to join its security market research and advisory group. The Research Director will be responsible for leading IDC's Network Security and Strategies market research service and ensuring the robustness and accuracy of IDC's Security and data products.

     

    The Research Director, Security Products is responsible for researching, writing and advising clients about trends and solutions in Cybersecurity. This position requires having a solid understanding of current security trends and strategies and the ability to influence at the highest levels of an organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Technology Analysis: Serves as a subject matter expert on enterprise cloud native and digital transformation priorities, identity and access management, and public cloud usage patterns and preferences.
    • Thought-leadership: Provides leadership thinking to the vendors delivering Cybersecurity software and infrastructure products and technologies.
    • Consulting: Develops and/or customizes Cybersecurity research and consulting projects to meet the specific needs of the external customers.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees a plus
    • 10 years of directly applicable industry and/or analyst experience
    • Strong verbal, quantitative and written communication skills
    • Track record of successful business development with vendors in IT Security/Cybersecurity industry
    • Possess security industry certifications or have a strong desire to become certified
    • Able to demonstrate a proven track record of written deliverables; examples of professional presentations of the nature required to fulfil this position
    • Self-starter requiring minimal direct oversight
    • Excellent collaboration skills, able to professionally insert herself/himself into projects in a positive and additive manner
    • Strong time management skills
    • Ability to travel approximately 20%
