Overview

IDC's Data & Analytics team is in search of a Vice President of Enterprise Technographics to drive product development within our new Knowledge Platform. The Vice President will have superior and demonstrated analytical, strategic and product development skills needed to drive invention and innovation of new products suited for a data as a service business model. It is important to be extremely entrepreneurial as the role will work collaboratively with senior leadership to help formulate and execute new product initiatives.

The Vice President, Enterprise Technographics will be responsible for the strategic definition, build and monetization of technographic data at IDC. Technographic data refers to the technology stack in use of enterprises and is used to support both strategic and tactical decision making of IT suppliers.

Responsibilities

This role entails full responsibility for leading and driving the development of technographic data sets and products within our Knowledge Platform – from architecting the primary methodology and executing according to business strategy and deadlines. The role will be highly collaborative in nature, working in close collaboration with our platform, product and data operations teams to ensure alignment across all IDC data sets and products.

• Technographic Product Development: Architect a methodology and execute a comprehensive technographic strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of technology adoption trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes to inform decision-making. Present analysis and trends to IDC clients.
• Own the collection, validation, and management of technographic data to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Collaborate with numerous analysts and subject matter experts to integrate technographic insights into IDC’s platforms and products.
•  Collaborate with sales, marketing and other lines of business to raise the visibility of the product, answer prospect and client inquiry and ensure product bookings are achieved.
• Evaluate, select, and implement tools that support data collection, analysis, and build.
• Management of other analysts on the team, as it expands over time.
•  Communicate build status, product performance, customer feedback and milestones to key stakeholders, including executive leadership.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and differentiation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Technology Management, Business Analytics).

• 12-15 years of experience in a similar role.
• Track record of successful technographic data creation and implementation
• Technographic subject matter expertise from both a technical and business perspective including the ability to work and manage large data sets
• Experience using technographic data for a variety of customer use cases – from strategy development to sales territory management
• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies associated with IT organizations
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Demonstrate a passion for teamwork, collaboration, and superior client outcomes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• This position is flexible to be 100 % remote on the east coast/eastern standard time zone in an approved  US location or at IDC's Corporate Headquarters in Needham, MA with a hybrid work schedule.

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $160,0000 and $195,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
