Overview

IDC is seeking for a Product Sales Specialist, Data Products to join the Data product sales team to focus on business development and new sales of the next generation of IDC’s data tools specifically designed for technology supplier sales & marketing leaders.

The Product Sales Specialist role requires a high degree of sales acumen, an understanding/appreciation of the value of world-class data, and an interest in global technology markets.  This position is focused on driving new, incremental, sales opportunities and expanding the installed base of clients.

 

This role will be based in IDC's office in Needham, MA with a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the sales strategy for a new and exciting product, the Knowledge Base Expansion, targeted at the Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations functions within technology vendor companies.
  • Understanding of all assigned product offerings, their unique value propositions, and alignment with client requirements in support of a customer’s TAM development and go-to-market strategy.
  • Prospect for incremental sales opportunities across IDC’s account base, create and follow up on proposals, respond to client requests for information, demo the product, and coordinate sales activities with Global Account Managers.
  • Be the primary point of contact and “face” of this new product set for customers, prospects, and internal IDC stakeholders.
  • Manage all MQLs generated by the SDR team supporting this initiative.
  • Act as a primary feedback mechanism to the product team concerning requests for special packaging, future product enhancements, marketing requirements, and contract negotiation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of direct sales experience, along with strong written, analytical, verbal communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience working for a technology supplier in a Revenue/Sales Operations, Marketing, or Sales Management capacity with an understanding of TAM development and resource allocation challenges/benefits is a plus.
  • Ability to understand, work with, and sell data tools.
  • Demonstrated success working independently to sell complex goods and services to technology vendors.
  • Prior market research industry, or technical, sales experience is a plus.
  • The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, motivated, assertive, collaborative, and a self-starter.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com preferred.
  • Up to 15% travel

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $130,000 and $172,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
