Our organization collects personal data that you submit to this website and we use it for employment recruiting and hiring.
Your personal data may be retained and used by us to consider your qualification for employment.
“Organization” means the specific organization which has posted an employment opportunity, as well as its affiliates, subsidiaries, and contracted service providers who may collect, use, and maintain your personal data in connection with our recruiting and hiring processes.
What Personal Data will we collect and how do we collect it?
While the personal data you are asked to provide varies by country and the position being filled, the following categories of data will generally be collected by us:
- Data you submit via a résumé or cv, including prior employment and education; cover letters; writing samples; reference contact data; or other written materials associated with your application;
- Data generated by interviewers and recruiters, based on their interactions with you or general background research via the internet;
- Data provided by third-party placement firms, recruiters, or job-search websites, where applicable;
- Recommendations provided on your behalf at your request by others;
- Data about race, ethnicity, disability, veteran, and/or gender status for purposes of government reporting where legally required, as well as to understand the make-up and background of our applicant pool and workforce.
What will we do with your personal data?
We will use your personal data to:
- Assess your suitability for employment for the position you are applying for, as well as other positions that are available or may become available;
- Perform administrative functions;
- Perform analysis of our applicant pool to better understand who is applying for positions and how to attract top talent;
- Perform any legally-required reporting, and/or respond to legally required inquiries or process.
- Help us determine our most effective job advertising source by using cookies and other tracking technology
Who will have access to your personal data?
In general, access to your personal data will be restricted to individuals in our organization who need it in order evaluate your application for employment, perform functions supporting our recruiting and hiring functions, or to whom we are compelled to provide it by applicable law.
Where is my personal data stored?
The personal data that you provide in connection with your application is stored in the U.S.
How long will you retain my personal data?
If you are given and accept an offer of employment, your personal data collected as part of the recruiting and hiring process will become part of your personnel records and will be retained throughout and for a period after your employment (specific periods vary by country). If we do not employ you, unless you request otherwise (see “ “ below) we may nevertheless continue to retain and use personal data collected during the recruitment process as required by law, to consider you for other positions, and, if appropriate, to refer to an earlier application if you apply for another position with us in the future, as well as for system administration, and to perform research and analysis.
How we protect your personal data.
IDG/IDC employs organizational, technical, and physical security measures in order to protect your data from loss or misuse. Where we contract with third-party suppliers to provide services that may enable them to access your personal data we require them by contract to have similar security controls in place.
