Overview

IDC is seeking a highly strategic, execution-focused Chief of Staff to support the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). This critical role will act as a force multiplier for the CRO, ensuring alignment across Commercial functions, driving key initiatives, and enabling operational excellence within the revenue organization.

 

The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of strategic thinking, commercial acumen, cross-functional collaboration, and operational rigor. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor, integrator, and operator, helping translate the CRO's vision into actionable plans and ensuring flawless execution across the Sales, Customer Success, and Revenue Operations functions.

 

This is a hybrid role located in metropolitan New York.  To be able to support the CRO properly, this role requires the candidate to come into the NYC office  2-3 days a week.

Responsibilities

Strategic Support to CRO

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the CRO; help prioritize focus areas and decision-making.
  • Lead and partner on strategic planning and quarterly/annual business reviews.
  • Prepare executive-level materials (board decks, investor updates, CRO talk tracks, CEO forecasting, organizational health analysis).

Office of the CRO Initiatives

  • Coordinate projects across all commercial functions.
  • Own the CRO’s operating rhythm — agendas, leadership meetings, cadences, and communications.
  • Monitor progress on strategic initiatives and follow through on CRO action items.
  • Vendor management

Cross-functional Execution

  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, RevOps, and Finance to align and track strategic goals.
  • Identify and resolve cross-functional roadblocks that hinder commercial performance.
  • Coordinate and lead special projects or transformations (e.g., go-to-market changes, system implementations).

Communication & Change Management

  • Act as a communication bridge between the CRO and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Craft compelling messaging for internal communications and organizational change initiatives.
  • Manage sensitive or high-impact initiatives with discretion and diplomacy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. 
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in Administration, Sales Strategy, or Commercial Operations. Previous experience in a chief of staff or similar role is a plus
  • Strong understanding of go-to-market models (Sales, Marketing, CS, RevOps).
  • Proven experience influencing executive stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong project management/reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines
  • Strong ability to navigate through ambiguity and ability to constantly shift priorities to the most important task at hand, while seeing the big picture
  • Operates with a high level of discretion, integrity, and emotional intelligence
  • Must work independently and be personally motivated. 
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of identifying opportunities for improvement and driving change.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills — both written and verbal
  • May require international travel

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $200,000 and $300,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
