Overview

IDC is  seeking a Senior Director of Program Management to oversee the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of a mission critical strategic initiative. This new role is critical for transforming our business model and operations, and aligning our projects to deliver on key business outcomes. The senior director will provide oversight and leadership for multiple project teams, ensuring cross-functional initiatives are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This will enable step changes in our operating model, improve operational efficiency, accelerate time-to-market for new products, and significantly reduce business risk to the bottom line.

 

Job summary

The Senior Director of Program Management is a leader responsible for managing the full lifecycle of a portfolio of strategic projects. This role involves defining program goals, establishing effective governance, developing standards and tools, and providing expert guidance to cross functional teams. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading complex initiatives and driving organizational change in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership: Define, implement, and lead the program management strategy for the business, ensuring all programs align with company goals and objectives.
  • Portfolio oversight: Manage a portfolio of workstreams, overseeing budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery of program outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional execution excellence: Lead across various business functions to drive alignment, manage dependencies—ensuring execution of program from end-to-end, establishing best practices, standard processes, and performance metrics.
  • Team development: Mentor and lead cross-functional team members, fostering a culture of accountability, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and other stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment, clear communication, and risk mitigation.
  • Risk management: Proactively identify, track, and manage program risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and driving timely resolutions.
  • Reporting: Develop and deliver end-to-end program reporting (project to executive-level) on program status, key milestones, and financial performance to keep leadership informed.
  • Process improvement: Identify and drive opportunities for improving program management tools and processes to increase organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related technical field; an MBA or Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in program or project management, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior or director-level role.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale and complex programs.
  • Extensive experience with various program management methodologies, such as Agile, SAFe, or other scaled delivery frameworks.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with project and portfolio management software.
  • Experience presenting to and communicating effectively with senior executives and at Board level.

At IDC US, we are committed to fair and equitable pay practices. We pay our employees equitably for their work, commensurate with their individual skills and experience. Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $200,000-250,000 USD and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation.
