Overview

International Data Group, Inc. (IDG), a PE-backed Data and Analytics company, has an opportunity for a dynamic Senior Tax Manager. This position will oversee all international tax matters for the group and report to the head of global tax operations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the group’s non-U.S. tax audits and controversy. Coordinate with external tax advisors to support audit submissions to tax authorities, manage risk and communicate status to senior management.
  • Assist with the review of tax planning, reporting and compliance strategies, and evaluate the tax impact of business strategies and proposals.
  • Provide support and manage external advisors across multiple jurisdictions with various special tax related projects, including cash repatriation initiatives and loan management.
  • Manage and communicate the periodic global transfer pricing calculations. Coordinate and review the regional transfer pricing documentation with external advisors and implement appropriate coverage of local files in accordance with international regulations. Support other departments with respect to understanding and recording the transfer pricing transactions.
  • Assess the transfer pricing policy to ensure appropriate margins are being set and attained across the group.
  • Advise on transaction taxes including VAT/GT/HST and assess tax risk with associated with cross boarder operations.
  • Assist with tax planning, research, structuring, and compliance with international tax laws and regulations.
  • Provide support and manage external advisors across multiple jurisdictions with various special tax related projects, including cash repatriation initiatives and loan management.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a convergent skillset of technical tax, accounting, and system proficiency, excellent communication skills, and the ability to partner effectively with tax colleagues, finance organization teams and external advisors.
  • Minimum 8 years of recent international tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation and/or law firm with practical experience of foreign local tax laws.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, JD/LLM or similar certifications.

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member

  • Excellent communication, analytical and research skills and willing to assist with different assignments among various tax workstreams

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $170,000-$190,000 USD and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation.
